LivingSoiLL participated to the EU Mission Soil Week

AREFLH is a partner of LivingSoiLL – “Healthy Soil to Permanent Crops Living Labs”, an Horizon Europe project funded by the European Commission.

On 5–6 November 2025, LivingSoiLL participated in the 3rd European Mission Soil Week at Aarhus University, Denmark. This year’s theme, “Leading the transition towards healthy soils: finance and landscape perspectives”, comes at a pivotal moment following the provisional agreement on the EU Soil Monitoring and Resilience Directive, marking a major step forward in soil protection and restoration across Europe.

The Mission Soil Week was on scaling soil health through new business and investment models, highlighting the EU Mission Soil’s role in advancing sustainable land management. The second day emphasized healthy soils within multifunctional landscapes, showcasing Denmark’s initiatives in climate change mitigation, biodiversity, and reduced environmental impact from agriculture.

During the gathering, the Grojec Living Lab (Poland) was officially recognized under the Living Labs Ceremony recognition, and the five living Labs of LivingSoiLL were disseminated through the SOILL startup catalogue available at a stand of the event.

For Cristina Carlos, LivingSoiLL’s project coordinator, “European Mission Soil Week presented a unique opportunity to learn more about the activities developed by all projects approved under the Soil Mission, including interactions with our Sibling projects, identifying synergies, and establishing strategies for future collaborations. Through its sessions, exhibition stands, and networking opportunities, this event fostered collaboration, scaled innovation, and advanced the implementation of the Mission Soil across Europe.”

The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders to share knowledge for sustainable soil management.
